Hello,
my name is Nerida
And I am really glad you've found me!
I'd love to talk to you, when you're ready.

This is how I can help
With more than 30 years of experience, as a grief counsellor, therapist and social worker, my goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where we can gently explore what’s troubling you, helping you to find comfort, clarity, and a way forward.
I believe in providing real value in every session, offering practical strategies and deep emotional support so that, even within a session or two, you may begin to feel a shift—whether it’s easing distress, gaining insight, or finding new ways to cope. Sometimes having someone in your corner can make the world of difference, and I want to support you through your challenges.
I offer counselling and therapy services in a range of formats, so you can decide what works best for you:
- Face-to-face (Perth area)
- Phone/Zoom/Facetime/email (Australia-wide).
Getting started is not always easy, but it can be simple. Contact me to arrange a free, initial 15-minute chat.
This is who I am
I’ve done most things in life backwards or at odd times (I even took a retirement-style trip through Canada and Alaska in my thirties). So far I’ve learned that we don’t always cope all the time – that’s life!
I have learned to keep going and to find new ways of doing things. And to stop and rest when it’s needed, which can be a hard lesson to learn! I’d call myself a reformed ‘failed perfectionist’ – still working on all of the things.
I value real and deep conversations (as well as dark humour) and I love the work I do now because I appreciate how brave any of us are to get counselling when we need it.
I’ve always used a range of approaches stemming from a holistic perspective and a person-centred approach. My goal is to connect with people first – the techniques then come from there and it’s about what fits best for what is needed.
I use a number of the focussed psychological strategies (FPS) as they are evidence based and really useful for allowing people to learn techniques and about themselves which offer them a chance to feel better and more connected to those around them. But first and foremost I like getting to know people and consider it crucial that we work out what might suit them.
